Constantine G. Caras, Chairman of Leadership 100, has named Eliana Papadakis, a long-time and devoted member and community and philanthropic leader in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as Chairwoman of National Leadership 100 Sunday.His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Church of America will issue an Encyclical on behalf of the Holy Eparchial Synod designating October 23, 2011, the Feast of Saint Iakovos, as the third observance of National Leadership 100 Sunday. The date was chosen as a tribute to Archbishop Iakovos of Blessed Memory, the visionary Founder and namesake of the Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Endowment Fund.

Mario Frangoulis In Concert At Conference

Internationally acclaimed Sony Classical recording artist and Greek tenor Mario Frangoulis will highlight the Leadership 100 21st Annual Conference, February 9-12, 2012 at The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach in Manalapan, Florida. He will perform at a special concert on Friday, February 10 at The Harriet Himmel Theater, the cultural centerpiece of CityPlace, in neighboring West Palm Beach, according to Conference Chair Cathy Sakellaris, who is a member of the Leadership 100 Board of Trustees.

Leadership 100 Supports National Clergy Retreat

The Leadership 100 Executive Committee unanimously agreed to underwrite the Archdiocesan Presbyters Council National Clergy Retreat in the amount of $45,000. According to Constantine G. Caras, Chairman of Leadership 100, this award is intended “to continue support of our clergy whose ministries are essential to our spiritual growth and that of our families, which has been an integral part of Leadership 100 grants since our founding.” The organization has provided more than $17 million in grants to various programs related to Greek Orthodox clergy over that period.

AHEPA Fulfills Pledge
The American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (Order of AHEPA), one of the first membership-based associations to join Leadership 100, fulfilled its $100,000 pledge with the presentation of a check to His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios and Paulette Poulos, Leadership 100 Executive Director, at the Grand Banquet of its 89th Annual Supreme Convention July 18-24, 2011, at the Fontainebleau Hotel, Miami Beach, Fla. Nicholas A. Karacostas, Supreme President, Order of AHEPA, and Franklin R. Manios, Chairman of AHEPA’S Board of Trustees, made the presentation.
