Charles H. Cotros, Chairman of Leadership 100, has named Ted Zampetis of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, a member of the Board of Trustees, a 2012 Chairman of National Leadership 100 Sunday. The theme is, The Leadership 100 Legacy of Giving. “Ted is an outstanding business leader who has contributed to our strategic planning. Leadership 100 is grateful that he has agreed to take on this new role,” said Cotros.

His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Church of America will issue an Encyclical on behalf of the Holy Eparchial Synod designating October 21, 2012 as the fourth observance of National Leadership 100 Sunday. It is the Sunday nearest the Feast of Saint Iakovos, chosen as a tribute to Archbishop Iakovos of Blessed Memory, the visionary Founder and namesake of the Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Endowment Fund.
His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios and the respected Metropolitans throughout the nation will direct each Parish Priest in their respective jurisdictions to read the Encyclical. Many parishes are planning a program during the coffee hour after the Divine Liturgy.
Zampetis has reached out to his fellow Trustees and all members to work with Parish Priests across the country to develop programs to address the importance of continuing support of the critical National Ministries of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America through a variety of charitable gifts to advance Orthodoxy and Hellenism.
Zampetis is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Shiloh Industries, Inc. a leading full service automotive supplier to the U.S., European and Asian automakers in North America. He has been a key player in the global automotive industry for some 40 years, focusing on sustainable improvement of operational strategies, team building and leadership development, process optimization and effective execution.
Born in Samos, Greece, he immigrated to the United States, to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1971. He worked for some 30 years at The Standard Products Company, a global automotive supplier, where he rose from Maintenance Engineer to President, Chief Operating Officer and a member of its Board of Directors, in 18 years. He is married to Ann Saviolis and they have two children, Constantine and Callie, and four grandchildren. All four members of the Zampetis family are individual members of Leadership 100.
A graduate of the Greek Merchant Marine Academy, where he studied Electro-Mechanical Engineering, he received both a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, concentrating in International Marketing, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration, concentrating in International Finance, from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio.
In 1984, under the guidance of Archbishop Iakovos, Leadership 100 was created as an Endowment Fund of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese through which Greek Orthodox leaders were asked to commit themselves to maintain the life-sustaining National Ministries of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and to advance Orthodoxy and Hellenism. It was formally named The Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Endowment Fund in 1998 as a separately incorporated endowment fund.
Membership in Leadership 100 today is inextricably tied with these critical National Ministries to which more than $33 million in grants have been distributed over 28 years, ranging from scholarship funds for Holy Cross School of Theology to prepare future Priests; Youth, Camping and Young Adult Ministries to support the spiritual growth of our youth; Interfaith Marriage and Family Ministries to support the faithful; Information Technologies, Internet Ministries and GOTelecom to communicate the faith; Stewardship, Outreach and Evangelism (including Home Mission) to spread the word; Religious and Greek Education to educate the faithful; Parish Development to support parishes of all sizes and in every Metropolis; and Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations to express unity of purpose.
