Hellenic College Holy Cross Commencement Honors George Logothetis, Fr. George Poulos
Hellenic College Holy Cross School of Theology graduated 52 students at its 75th Commencement May 20, which also awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities to entrepreneur and philanthropist George Logothetis and an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity to Fr. George Poulos, a 1948 graduate of Holy Cross Seminary in Pomfret, Conn.
Following the singing of the Greek and American national anthems by the Holy Cross St. Romanos the Melodist Byzantine Choir, school President, Fr. Christopher Metropulos, welcomed the hundreds of attendees. Greetings also were offered on behalf of the National Philoptochos President by National Philoptochos First Vice President Jeannie Ranglas, a member of Leadership 100, and Archdiocesan Council Vice President and Leadership 100 Chairman George S. Tsandikos.

John Pappajohn receives the Paradigm Award from John Koudounis
The PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation honored the renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist and longtime member of Leadership 100, John G. Pappajohn, with the Paradigm Award on June 23, 2017 in Chicago. The award was presented to Pappajohn by John S. Koudounis, CEO of Calamos Investments and 2016 Paradigm Award Recipient. The Annual Awards Ceremony and Gala was held to celebrate the 2017 PanHellenic Scholarship Award Recipients. The event took place at the Hilton Chicago with a new record of more than 570 guests attending. The forty-two recipients received $255,000 in scholarship awards to use toward their college education.

Detroit Membership Recruitment Event
Leadership 100 held its third membership recruitment dinner in the Metropolis of Detroit on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Morton’s Steak House in Troy, Michigan, hosted by Theodore and Ann Zampetis.
The highlight of the event was the enrollment of two of Zampetis’ granddaughters as Junior Partners, Melina Theodora and Anna Viktoria Zampetis, which totals nine family members brought into Leadership 100 by Zampetis, who is Chairman of the Membership Committee.

All Saints Greek Orthodox Church Celebrates 100th Anniversary
On Mother’s Day weekend, May 13-14, 2017, the historic parish of All Saints in Weirton, West Virginia, “a beacon of Orthodoxy in the Ohio valley,” celebrated its 100-year Anniversary. His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios Geron of America together with Metropolitan Savas of Pittsburgh, led a feast of faith, joy and love.
The faithful of All Saints in this once thriving steel mill town, enthusiastically received the visit of Archbishop Demetrios. Archbishop Athenagoras (later Ecumenical Patriarch) was the first to visit the parish and lay the cornerstone of the present church edifice 70 years ago, in 1947. Archbishop Michael came for the dedication of the new church Sunday, June 4, 1950. Archbishop Iakovos is also reported to have made pastoral visits to the parish once in 1964 and sometime in the late ’70s or early ’80s.

Limberakis, National Commander of the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and a prominent member of Leadership 100, was honored with the Holy Trinity Award at the 82nd Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity's Cathedral Gala on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Guastavino's in New York. His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Geron of America, Fr. John Vlahos, Cathedral Dean, together with Cathedral President James Gianakis, Gala Chairs Justin Bozonelis, Stephanie Pantelidis and the Host Committee recognized Dr. Limberakis' 20 years of witness and service as a 'Defender of the Faith' for the Mother Church of Constantinople.

Nikos Mouyiaris Honored by Cyprus-US Chamber of Commerce
Nikos Mouyiaris, Founder & CEO of MANA Products and a member of Leadership 100, was honored with the Distinguished Merit Award by the Cyprus-US Chamber of Commerce at its Annual Award Dinner held on June 16, 2017 in Manhattan.
Mouyiaris was cited for his achievements as an entrepreneur, a leader and fighter for the Cyprus cause, as a supporter of education and culture, as the founder of the Hellenic American Leadership Council, and as the benefactor of many institutions in the Greek American and Cypriot American communities. In a video message, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades praised the role of the honoree in support of Cyprus and on the role of the Chamber in promoting relations between the US and Cyprus.

Dr. John Collis, of Cleveland, Ohio, a distinguished longtime member of Leadership 100, was honored for Lifetime Achievement in spinal surgery at an event on May 4, 2017 organized by the Spine and Orthopedic Institute at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center in Cleveland, where he serves as a neurosurgeon and co-Director. Some 100 colleagues, relatives and friends attended.

Ronald McDonald Greek Division Holds Annual Walk-a-Thon
The Ronald McDonald House New York Greek Division held its 22nd Niki Sideris Annual Memorial Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, June 10, 2017 to raise awareness and funds to support children and their families battling pediatric cancer during their treatment in New York hospitals.
Dr. Konstantinos Koutras, Consul General of Greece in New York, and Manos Koubarakis Consul of Greece in New York participated in the event. Dr. Koutras thanked the Greek Division, which is, chaired by Michael N. Bapis, a member of the Board of Trustees of Leadership 100, and Ruth Browne, President and CEO of RMH New York, for their “fine work” and encouraged continued support for the House’s mission.

Ionian Village Launches Summer 2017 Camping Programs
Following recovery and restoration from a massive and devastating tornado that struck its campgrounds in Greece last fall, Ionian Village has begun its summer camping programs in June of 2017 with the popular trip for young adults, Spiritual Odyssey. Campers and Staff arrived at the fully restored campgrounds and were both inspired and pleased with the work that had been completed to bring the grounds back to fully operational status. “It’s been a long winter for all of us here” remarked Father Evagoras Constantinides, the Director of Ionian Village, “but with the hard work and dedication of our team of workers and contractors, we were able to arrive here, to arrive home in time for the summer season.”
