Leadership 100 Conference To Convene in Orlando in 2015

The 24th Annual Leadership 100 Conference will take place February 12-15, 2015 at The Ritz- Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes in Orlando, Florida.

The 24th Annual Leadership 100 Conference will take place February 12-15, 2015 at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes in Orlando, Florida. The will include the traditional Bible Study and Lecture by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, along with outstanding speakers. Two forums will feature Leadership 100 members: Michael Psaros, Co-Founder and Co-Managing Partner of KPS Capital Partners, LP, and Dr. Eleni Andreopoulou, an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medical Oncology at the Einstein/ Montefiore Medical Center in New York, who will join the faculty at the Weill Cornell Medical College/New York-Presbyterian Hospital in January of 2015. read more

Dr. Eleni Andreopoulou

Dr. Eleni Andreopoulou will address the Saturday Forum on February 14, 2015 at the 24th Annual Leadership 100 Conference. She is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medical Oncology at the Einstein/ Montefiore Medical Center in New York and effective January 2015 she has accepted an upper faculty appointment at the Weill Cornell Medical College/New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She was previously a member of the faculty in the Department of Breast Medical Oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center where she held the title of Attending Physician and Assistant Professor of Medicine. read more

Michael Psaros, a member of Leadership 100 and Co-Founder and Co-Managing Partner of KPS Capital Partners, LP, and a member of its Investment Committee, will address the Friday Forum on February 13, 2015 at the 24th Annual Leadership 100 Conference. Named 2014 Executive of the Year by The Hellenic American Bankers Association (HABA) on May 1, 2014, he was invested as an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate on October 19, 2014. read more

Constantine M. Triantafilou To Speak At Opening Forum

Constantine M. Triantafilou, also known as “Dean” will speak at the Opening Forum on Thursday, February 12,  2015 at the 24th Annual Leadership 100 Conference. Triantafilou has been the driving force behind International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) for 16 years.  As Executive Director and CEO, he manages all facets of relief and development programs for IOCC, including its international headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland, and 10 field offices in Eastern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

A graduate of Texas A&M University, Triantafilou began honing his leadership skills at IOCC in 1993 when he joined the organization as commodities manager for the former Yugoslavia country office, and was promoted to regional representative for Greece and Yugoslavia programs and director of programs before taking the helm in 1998. read more

Tribute to Ilias I. Lalaounis


Ilias I. Lalaounis

Leadership 100 will pay tribute to the late Ilias Lalaounis, the world renowned Greek academician, artist and designer. His contributions as a goldsmith and jeweler whose designs regenerated the glories of Greek history and tradition, transcended his craft and led to international recognition as the only jeweler ever elected to be a member of the French Academy of Fine Arts in 1990. He will be recognized posthumously with the Archbishop Iakovos leadership 100 Award for Excellence for his contributions to Hellenism. The Award will be accepted by his wife, Lila, along with one of his four daughters, Ioanna. His three other daughters are Katerini, Dimitra and Maria. All four daughters direct both the company and museum he founded.

Born in Athens in 1920, the fourth generation of a family of goldsmiths and watchmakers, Lalaounis died in 2013, having transformed his beginnings in a family jewelry company into a worldwide presence, in which he was distinguished for reviving ancient Greek goldsmithing and promoting it through his collections throughout the second half of the 20th century. He also founder and served as President of the Lalaounis Jewelry Museum in Athens. read more

Peter Tiboris To Present "Symphony At Sunset"

Peter Tiboris, the renowned conductor and a member of Leadership 100, will conduct the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra in “Symphony at Sunset”, featuring his wife, Eilana Lappalainen, an internationally regarded  dramatic operatic soprano, Thursday evening, February 12, 2015. The special program will also include the University of Central Florida Choir of 60 members in a performance of the Mikis Theodorakis Zorba Suite “finale”.

 The highlight of the program will be Lappalainen’s performance of Beethoven’s Ah Perfidio. Other selections conducted by Tiboris, in addition to the Greek National Anthem and the Star Spangled Banner, will be the Overtures Verdi’s La forza del destino, Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.

George And Judy Marcus Honored By Metropolis Of San Francisco

George and Judy Marcus, long-time members of Leadership 100, were honored by the Metropolis of San Francisco for their leadership and stewardship on November 15, 2014. They were presented with The Theofanis Economidis Award at a Gala whose theme was Honoring Extraordinary Leadership and Celebrating our Ministries.

 George Marcus was noted for his visionary leadership of The Marcus & Millichap Company, which he founded and served as Chairman since 1971, and his service to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and to the Metropolis of San Francisco, as well as to the Greek-American community. An Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, he served for many years on the Board of Trustees of Leadership 100 and is the founder of the National Hellenic Society. Judy Marcus was cited for her innovative community activism for many philanthropic causes in the San Francisco Bay Area. read more

Stephen Cherpelis Honored by St. Michael’s Home

Stephen Cherpelis, a long-time member of Leadership 100, was honored with the 2014 Archangel Michael Award by St. Michael’s Home at the Annual Name Day Gala on November 9, 2014, at the Metropolitan Club in New York City.

Cherpelis, joined by his wife, Arete, also a member of Leadership 100, was commended for his leadership in business and philanthropy and for his devoted support of the Greek Orthodox Church, the Greek American Community, and many contributions to local, national and international causes. read more

Aphrodite Skeadas Honored At the Chrysanthemum Ball

Aphrodite G. Skeadas, a member of Leadership 100, was honored by the Archdiocesan Cathedral Philoptochos Society for her successful leadership of the 27,000- member Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society for three terms, from 2008 to 2014, at the festive annual Chrysanthemum Ball on November 7, 2014.

The event, which supports the National Philoptochos Department of Social Services, also included the Young Professionals, chaired by Justin Bozonelis and Stephanie Pantelidis, also members of Leadership 100, which generated support for the Girls Educational & Mentoring Services (GEMS). read more

Stavropoulos of Troy, Michigan, a long-time member of Leadership 100 who served for many years on the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee and as Chairman of the Grant Committee, was named as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC). In addition, social gatherings are held at a unique location in the host city of the 100 Conference and other social, cultural and professional gatherings are held across the country each year.
