Leadership 100 Reaches 1,000 Members As Hellenic College Professor Joins

Tsandikos, Chairman, announced that Leadership 100 has reached its decades-long goal of 1,000 memberships. “We are delighted to announce that Dr. Aristotle Michopoulos, Professor and Chairman of the Classics and the Greek Studies Department at Hellenic College in Brookline, Massachusetts, is our 1,000th member. Leadership 100 held a recruitment dinner on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Morton’s Steak House in Troy, Michigan, hosted by Ted and Ann Zampetis, and emceed by Lou Kircos, who spoke as a member of the Audit Committee about the transparency of the organization. Zampetis, Chairman of the Membership Committee, spoke about Leadership 100 and how he was brought in by Chairman Emeritus John Payiavlas. read more

Andrew E. Manatos Receives 2016 Alpha Omega Council Lifetime Achievement Award

The Alpha Omega Council honored Andrew E. Manatos, a longtime member of Leadership 100, with its Lifetime Achievement Award at its 33rd Annual Award Banquet, Saturday evening June 4, 2016 at the Westin Waterfront Hotel in Boston.

Marking its fortieth year as one of the Greek American community’s leading philanthropic entities, Alpha Omega recognizes outstanding Greek Americans who have advanced Hellenic and Orthodox ideals in America. The organization, which is comprised of Greek American business leaders, scientists and other professionals, stated that Manatos “exemplifies the spirit of the award through his devotion to philanthropy and humanitarian causes, both of which have touched millions of lives. His far-reaching influence has guided U.S. policy toward religious freedom for the Ecumenical Patriarchate and support for the countries of Cyprus and Greece.”

“We are proud to be recognizing Mr. Manatos’ legacy with this award,” said Alpha Omega Council President John Anton. “Mr. Manatos’ dedication to countless charities and organizations over the course of his career is truly remarkable. His tenacity and spirit serve as an inspiration to all of us and we salute him for all of his exceptional work.” read more

George Marcus Awarded Honorary Degree At Hellenic College/Holy Cross Commencement

George M. Marcus, a longtime distinguished member of the Leadership 100 Executive Committee and Board of Trustees, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree at the 74th Commencement at Hellenic College/Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology on May 21, 2016.

Some 500 people attended the ceremonies, presided over by His Eminence Geron Archbishop Demetrios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church in America and Fr. Christopher Metropulos, President of Hellenic College/Holy Cross. Ifigenia Kanara, Consul General for Greece in Boston, delivered the keynote address. read more

Greek Division Of Ronald McDonald House Holds 21st Annual Memorial Walk-A-Thon

The Greek Division of the Ronald McDonald House New York, Chaired by Michael N. Bapis, a member of the Leadership 100 Board of Trustees, held its 21st Niki Sideris Annual Memorial Walk-a-Thon to raise funds for families fighting childhood cancer, on May 14, 2016.

The event was kicked off at Ronald McDonald House on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and proceeded past the Greek Orthodox Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, returning to the Ronald McDonald House. read more

Inaugurated in 2007, today 118 members are now Leadership 100 Partners or Leadership 100 Junior Partners (ages up to 21). Leadership 100 Partners actively participate in the Leadership 100 Annual Leadership 100 Conferences, where prominent leaders of the Greek American Community address their concerns as aspiring leaders. In addition, social gatherings are held at a unique location in the host city of the 100 Conference and other social, cultural and professional gatherings are held across the country each year.
